SMALL GRANTS

Mongol Environmental Conservation’s Small Grants program supports small-scale environmental conservation work in Mongolia. The environmental challenges of our time will not be solved easily and instantly; therefore, MEC is working to strengthen the capacity of small non-governmental organizations to maximize their social impact.

Grants will range from $1000 to $5000 U.S. dollars and will be granted twice a year.

Grant proposal deadlines for 2010: February 1 and August 1, 2010

Selection criteria:
1. Groups or organizations that have acquired formal legal status in Mongolia and a bank account in the organization’s name.
2. Organizations that have an annual budget under $25,000
3. Organizations that are working in one of the three current focus areas: Water Scarcity and Pollution, Desertification & ClimateChange, Socio-Ecological Impacts of Mining
